Windows 10?
Press Control + Shift + Escape.
Task Manager will open.
In bottom left corner, if it says "more details" click that. If it says fewer details, leave it.
There will be percents above the four right columns.
Are any of them over 40%? If yes, click that column to sort by it. What app has the highest number in that column?
If no, try a game and make sure you are still having lag.

Run windows update and make sure everything is up to date.

Click Start, in search box type device manager then hit enter. Expand Display Adapter and make sure your graphics card appears there and doesn't have an X on it.


Go to "this pc" or "my computer". Check the free space on the C drive. Should be at lest 15% free.
