IX is like my pokemon Emerald of this series. Never been able to finish it for various reasons.

Brother sold the memory card the first time I played
Game corrupted second time
Brother sold game itself
Emulated it on my old XP, and that computer finally bit the dust for good while I was on disc 2, furthest I'd ever been.

Probably have played FF IX 30 hours at least, got to disc 2 once. It'll be a long time before I try it again, not that I didn't like it, but replaying just disc one over and over again over the years sucks.
