Ok..I wasnt going to jump on my box of Tide for this topic but I feel the need to comment on this post.
I will try to refrain from typing any four letter words in this as well..
How in the world can ANY of us condemn a mans soul to hell? Thats GODS job. Let him figure it out. NONE of us know the ins and outs of what he and his wife went through or what led up to the police being involved. In any argument or fight there are generally 2 parties involved. Im not placing blame on her if she was just battered by him but In my experience normally there are contributing factors in a fight like that. Without trying to look up police records and everything I'll just leave that part alone.
Now as far as him dying...yes in my eyes its a tragedy. EVERYONE has deomons they need to outrun and out think. Some are more visible then others and are reported more frequently, but If a person at least recognizes that he has issues/ struggles and looks for help like Rodney tried to due then what more can we ask of a person? He was just was on Dr Drews show for addiction issues and he was trying to battle those demons. As a matter of fact in April he was just doing a mentoring program where he was speaking to people about the dangers of alchohol and drug abuse and about the struggles hes had in his life...as well as the riots and his beating.
I would think that carrying around that burden of BEING Rodney King on your shoulders everyday of your life..plus the physical and mental scars of the beating itself affected him until this day. Out if his situation came a lot of negative and positive changes to the LAPD and to the country as a whole and HE was the person on the news asking for people to not make it hard for the young and old people and to ask us all to get along.
In my opinion ANYONE that dies @ the age of 47 in his pool is a shame. Ive heard reports that he was possible drinking that morning or smoking weed, all the reports are from his wife so far. Ive heard that she has been giving conflicting accounts of what happened. Now this might just be from stress or grief or who knows what, but until the medical exam is completed I'm holding judgement.
So to EVERYONE saying that he was SCUM or less then human or Hitler or whatever you want to label him as....I'll be the one to say he was a Human being. Faults, contradictions, inadaquancies, joys, triumphs, emotions, breathing, blinking, farting, cussing, loving, hating HUMAN.
Take that for what its worth.
Now Im getting off my box of TIDE and returning back to topic.
RIP Rodney King a (Im sure reluctant) Celebrity
