Apparently they made a game about it, the only version we could have is Amiga and we don't. But, if Wikipedia is to be believed, Smash TV is inspired by it.

I have a Atari compilation game disc and on it are video extras where the game designers talk about it.

I didn't think The Running Man's story was that bad.
The movie was under budget and cheesy, but if they remake the movie now it would be very popular if they made it brutal enough.
People {in general} seem to have a real bloodlust nowadays = in fact, I bet they could do the show IRL, have Schwartzenegger host it, and people would go nuts!

Cat Soup is one of the strangest animes I've ever seen, following the adventures of a kitten whose imagination runs wild??
That's my take on it, but there is some kind of a spiritual journey message going on there as well.
