I wasn't a fan of Amy Winehouse but 27 is really young to die.
I saw a video of her last performance on youtube and from what I could see she was really, really far gone.
Sadly this rampant addiction seems quite common among young 'celebrities'; I'm reminded of how Drew Barrymore would talk about getting drunk on vodka at 11 years old and going to the 7 - 11 in the middle of the night .... and many other such stories.

Is it the isolation of fame that does this to them?
Does being placed on a pedestal mean your feet never touch the ground, and therefore you are also out of touch with reality?
Why does addiction grip so many of these people?
