Re: Teacher punches student in the face, no charges

Part of the problem is the lack of accountability. When I was in school you'd be pretty much expelled for assaulting a teacher, even verbally. You might get a second chance but you might not. Now it's just ridiculous. They have zero tolerance between students, teachers have no power to discipline but students can treat teachers pretty badly and go unpunished. Obviously not all schools are like that but more and more I keep hearing about how powerless the teachers have become and how unwilling the schools are to back them up. We coddle too much, kids need a heavy dose of reality.
