Wiimc is a homebrew app, of course it's not illegal. Most of the stuff people stream to it is though. I guarantee you that documentary I just watched is not available on Netflix. (Cult Killer the story of Rick Rodrigez) But I'm not going to argue whether or not it's better than Netflix, because I haven't tried both of them. (hint hint)
