My list would look something like this-

3. Bloody Roar/Beastorizer(not the later horrible versions)
4. Mortal Kombat
5. Street Fighter
6. Marvel vs Capcom
7. Destrega
8. Bushido Blade
9. Smash Bros
10. Virtua Fighter
I didn't bother listing the individual games in the series if I played them all pretty much equally.

Btw did anyone play Destrega or Bushido Blade? I really loved those two and I wish they'd make more fighting games like them.

Destrega lets you use a large open map to your advantage and it has long distance projectiles and up close combat.

Not the best video but there's not many to choose from.

Bushido blade had realistic sword fighting that led to intense stand offs and fun duels. If you got hit with a lethal shot you died. If you took a clean hit to the arm or leg you'd lose use of it(yes you'd be on the ground swinging your weapon).

Both PS1 so they're ugly but really awesome despite that.
