Just for the record SC, I was consistently scoring more than 30,000 points in my very first move in Yoshi's Cookie (NES) during the recent EC tournament.
It's all about how good you are at lining up massive multi hit combos. I don't think I ever even made it to level 4-1 in the game, but ended up with close to 100,000 points.

Bagel is correct, farming doesn't really apply to this game. I don't think there is anything wrong with playing on a lelel for a while to try and get larger combos. Whenever you stay on a level too long you are taking a really big risk of getting stuck and losing, because the game will suddenly speed up very quickly and then it's really difficult to dig your way out. So I don't see how that could be considered farming.
