you missed the experience, but that is really based on what you make out of it. if you would have just sat there like a robot, then no you didn't miss anything.
i have had three graduations, high school was fun, got to crack jokes, hide a water pistol, coughed a loud *cough*cheater*cough* when the salutatorian was recognized after she see got busted for plagerizing earlier in the year.
college was fun, was drunk. the college president and i were buddy-buddy so we shared a joke when i got my diploma.
grad school graduation was a complete and total waste of time. i would have skipped that one if i could do it again. neither of my parents came. i basically wanted to look pretty in my graduation gown and hood and get my picture taken. to this day, i can't find that picture.
