Somewhere near the start of this thread someone was talking about the PS3 and Blu Ray movies:
These are only worth it if you have an HDMI cable.
If you're using RCA, stick with the standard DVDs'.

Although I don't personally own any HD anything, I have heard 'people' say this among videophile discussion groups.
I come across this stuff while looking for audiophile discussion groups.
{The crossover between these two groups is home theater, so there you have it}
