Yes there is. It hurts the kid, makes them trust you less and teaches them that violence is the way to solve things. If your kid is behaving only because he fears you then you're failing as a parent.

Giants got a win 1-2 now with a game on Thursday.
Had a fun day watching football. Seahawks-Broncos was a really good game (Better than the Super Bowl huehuehue).

Wouldn't that be better than a loss?

Just gonna say that tying with the Mexicans was WAY better than losing to the Germans.

I'm always happy to see the Packers dominate their games. So far they've made the Vikings and the Panthers look like they shouldn't even be in the same league.

Re: NFL
Not a single TD reception this year for a Chiefs wide receiver. That's absolutely mind-blowing.
It looked like they had one here, until he fumbled it to the tight end.

Re: NFL
How do you not have any of your WRs have at least ONE touchdown and still manage to go 9-7? Just wow.
Giants season has been over for a while but it's been a real pleasure watching Odell Beckham Jr. play. He's been awesome and gives me some confidence going into next year. Eli also had a pretty strong year if you take out that disastrous 5-int game.

Simple: Tight Ends, Running Backs and defense. Also, i think if the Chiefs were smart they'd trade Bowe away for Beckham :P

Re: NFL
One of the scariest moments was seeing Aaron Rodgers go down. It did make for a cool moment when he came back, though. Thankfully the Pack won the game and they get the first round bye. Hopefully Aaron can be at 100% for the playoffs.
Speaking of the playoffs, does anyone think the rules should be changed slightly so a team with a losing record can't get in?

Re: NFL
Let the NFL Wholesale Slaughter begin. The following were fired/parted with the team:
Jim Harbaugh- SF HC (Mutually parted ways)
Mike Smith- Atlanta HC
Phil Emery- Chicago GM
Marc Trestman- Chicago HC
Aaron Kromer- Chicago OC for leaking info to the NFL Network
John Idzik- Jets GM
Rex Ryan- Jets HC

Yes and no. Yes, if the NFL ever went back to 3 divisions per conference and instead have 3 wild-card spots based on record. In that scenario, you could still have the 3-seed (division winner with the worst record/losing tiebreakers compared to top 2 conference seeds) vs. 6-seed, and 4-seed vs. 5-seed in wild-card weekend. I wish they would, but it won't happen. No, because it doesn't happen very often (before 2010 and this year from what I read, it only happened twice since 1920, with 2 teams in 1982 making the playoffs with 4-5 records in a strike season), but it's just annoying to some people when it does.

I'm aware it's a rarity, which is good. Still, it really rubs me the wrong way when a team with a losing record gets into the playoffs.
Then again, imagine the utter shock if, by some miracle, Carolina ends up winning the whole thing.

Re: NFL
So the Patriots were, shall we say, stretching the rules yesterday. Thoughts?
If you don't know, they adopted a technique where they pulled a lineman out of the game and replaced him with an extra skill player who then reports as ineligible to touch the ball and lines up split out as a WR. Baltimore then had little tme to read and adjust before the ball was snapped.
Apparently this is legal per the NFL rules(but probably not for long when the NFL changes it after the season, or at least how long the defense gets to adjust). It may be legal, but to me it's a shady technique to use just because you found a loophole in the rules.
