All in all a great first week. Pretty boy out for the season, Pitt stompin' Houston, Bungels and Clowns going down. Very nice. ;D
He still won.

This week personally just made me have no enthusiasm for football, glad Brady is out.

@ Tails: I had to deal with a virus that infected my system. Glad I finally got rid of it.

@ Tenser: Congraduations on your Steelers' win.

The Bears looked real good & (guess what?), they got a running game. I can see them going to the Super Bowl.

Seems like the Colts weren't really into that game. For one thing, Marvin Harrison kept either fumbling the ball, or dropping passes. He's their star receiver. They can't have that. And Clark & Addai are out too. I'd say I'm speechless, but I got a few more points to give here.

Sure the "New York Farves" won yesterday, it's just the Dolphins people, It's just the Dolphins.

You're not the only ones, Tails & Tenser. I'm glad Brady's out too. Other then Chad Johnson & (I believe) Tony Romo will be this year, Brady is the NFL's biggest sports tabloid star. He seems like someone you'll (for some reason or another) love to hate. I know I do.

Re: NFL

I just hate how the media couldn't care less about a quarterback unless his last name is Brady of Manning. My boy ended last season with the highest QB rating but no, focus on the friggin' Cheatriots. I hate the Pats with a passion. They cost my team two superbowl runs and we're one of the teams they were caught taping.

Brady and Manning have done what Woods has for golf. Its disgusting how ESPN refuses to give equal coverage to all teams.

Re: NFL

Brady is an exceptional quarterback, but the job becomes drastically easier when you have an average of 4 to 5 seconds to make a decision. With their O-line still intact, I believe the Cassell-led Patriots will be able to win somewhere around 10 to 12 games. For all we know Cassell could be a horse. The guy has been a part of winning football teams his entire career. You might not have thought of this, but he was probably running reps against the 1st team defenses of both USC and New England during his tenures at both places. If he's been a sponge for the past 8 years he might turn out to be pretty good.

I never like to see somebody get hurt and especially not to the extent that Brady is. I'm speaking from experience when I say that an ACL reconstruction is extremely painful and the road to recovery is a long one.

On a lighter note, I hope everyone is as geared up as I am for "Clash of the Titans I" next week on Monday Night Football.

Well Palmer now looks very scared, won't rush, and just isn't the same since his injury in the playoff game. Back in USC and before the injury he was really good, now he had to go back to fundamentals and with how he performed versus Baltimore, he does not look pretty.

Re: NFL

On the topic of Brady and Manning, the best QBs get the most coverage. That's how it goes. Tenser, your boy Ben got a ton of coverage when he won all those games his rookie year, cause it was rather spectacular. He hasn't had any more spectacular years, so he hasn't been the focus. Brady and Manning are both doing huge things in the NFL. Networks aren't going to give teams equal covereage, they are going to get as much coverage as they can on the teams that people want to see.

I like Manning, I don't really like Brady, and I am as sick as anyone of watching the Patriots win everything.

I also don't approve of cheering due to injuries.

That is all.

I disagree with all the above.

1. Except for his 2006 injury year ben has always ranked above either Manning or Brady.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statis...on=2&year=2007

2004
1st Manning
5th Roethlisberger
9th Brady

2005
1st Manning
3rd Roethlisberger
6th Brady

2006
1st Manning
9th Brady
21st Roethlisberger

2007
1st Brady
2nd Roethlisberger
4th Manning

2. If they were catering to the team most people wanted to see then it would be the Steelers. They have the largest fan base in the NFL. Incidentally Pitt has the most female fans as well. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/20750560/

It's not like Pitt has a long history of great QBs to choose from. Bradshaw had the rings but he also had the greatest football team in history to work with. Ben has one but I think he's good for one more before he retires.

See I respect Bradshaw, but why is it the greatest football team in history? What about Marino and the Dolphins? Brady and the Pats last year? What about Montanna of the 49ers? Bart Starr and the Packers?`

Re: NFL

I disagree with that. By far the 49ers teams with Montanna and Rice were the best, and the best passing game was defiantly Marino and the Mark bros. had the best passing game. The only thing i give to the Steelers is there history of pounding the rock up defenses throats.

1. Is this passer rating? Regardless, having the best passer rating isn't an "exceptional" feat. Someone does it every year. An exceptional feat:
Crushing the record for most TD passes in a season
Coming a game away from being the second team in history to win every game in a season

2. We were talking dudes, not teams. The media is way more focused on superstars these days it would seem, not who is playing like a team.

Re: NFL

Neither is tearing an ACL an "exceptional" feat. Its common enough in sports.

Neither is have your starting QB taken out of the first game because on injury. Come on Tommy, we both know the media spends way too much time catering to its pretty boys.

1,000 points says you can't name the other two starting QB's that were injured Sunday without looking it up. Hell, just the teams that they played on. The media doesn't give two steaming piles about them.

I wouldn't have even known Brady tore his ACL if it wasn't for you guys. I haven't payed any attention at all so far this season. I think being out for the season is a pretty big deal when you have been a dominating force in the NFL for the past thousand seasons and are expected to do it again.

And Brady, yeah, but Manning a pretty boy? I must be looking at him wrong.

@ Tenser: That's messed up. I respect the Steelers; I'm originally from Pa. I even gave Myron Cope his due respect in a previous post in this thread. I can take solace in the fact that there was a smile brought to your face upon reminicsing of the Brister Era...

@ TMT: I couldn't agree more. The Manning Brothers are lucky they are good at football. If they weren't, there's no way they would have been able to spend a fraction of the quality time with the high caliber women that I'm sure they have. Some ugly mugs on them boys.
