Resident evil 5
i love this game!
does anyone have it or have played it?
i have already beaten it twice, once on veteran and normal with my brother
IMO the replay value is through the roof im now playing it my third time through and its not even that short.
I like the aiming system and i love the up close melee system its so fun to kick a zombie in the face
but truly i think the boss fights and story/cutscenes are the best
there are even interactive cutscenes where during the cutscenes you have to do certain things like dodge or run or shoot
not quite a review because im tired but i dont dislike anything in this game so i say...... 10/10
feel free to speak your opinion on this wonderful game
p.s yes im only posting this because my brother is playing it on xbox live as well as sumostomp and i love the game that just made me finally get up and make this review thing

Re: Resident evil 5
i give it a 7/10
its the same as RE 4 ( escenarios are almost the same, a mine , a factory...) enemys too ( uroboros are just like ``las plagas´´) ( even the chainsaw enemy its exactly)
its more a RE 4 Mod than a New Re ( diferences are minimal) but the story its great ( dam wesker xD)

Re: Resident evil 5
Played the demo and hated it. Own RE4 and don't like it either.
Survival horror games without survival horror elements are not fun. Its turned into just an action game.

Re: Resident evil 5
I agree Tenser, but I still loved RE 4. Never played 5 but heard the aiming was just horrible.

Re: Resident evil 5
But all you people like action games, right? I mean, I understand being disappointed when a game switches genres on you unexpectedly, but really? You hate it because it's an action game?
I love RE5. I haven't beat it yet because I commited to playing it all the way through with a friend, but we have gotten pretty far. I like it a lot, though I dislike a few things. I especially dislike the infected with machine guns. RE is enough of an action game to not be survival/horror, but not enough of an action game for me to be shot at. The controls are so frustrating at that point.
Oh, and @Davidman: I don't know who told you the aiming is horrible, it is just like aiming should be. If you liked 4 you will like 5.

thats the point but not exactly
i ``hate´´ re 4 and 5 because resident evil means survival horror to me but the true problem its that capcom frogot that and turn it in to and action game ( re 5 isnt scary and still re 1 makes me jump of my sofa when i play on the ds) they could do a mix between survival horror and action, i like the new style because old re are hard to move and that makes the combats more dificults, but at least thats the problem for me. they turned my fav survival horror game into another stupid shooting game ( at least i have dead space... not survival at all but more closer than re 5)
PS: aiming is hard specially if you havent played before those new resident evils but i can told you david that on xbox360 aiming is much better than ps3

Re: Resident evil 5
i think res evil 5 is a good, fun game, but there has been some talk about how it isn't a survival/horror game, i completely agree, it completely lacks those aspects from the games earlier in the series. at no point while playing it was i ever scared, never had any of the nervous tension. survival was never an issue as well as there is ammo and herbs abound through out the campaign. survival is an issue in professional mode as the zombies by that point are seriously aggresive and there are often 1 hit kills. but generally, by your second run through, you have unlimited ammo for a gun and that can take the fun out of it...and the infinate rocket launcher....forget about it.
i loved having 3 shotgun shells and having to pick your battles and having to run when necessary instead of the kill 'em all attitude.

@TMT & MJ23: Well I was simply stating my opinion of the game after having played it. I am certainly entitled to it just as you're entitled to think RE4 was a great action game.
Again, RE4 was a really bad action game.

Re: Resident evil 5
I used to play the Resident Evil series for the action, not the horror.
When RE4 came out, it was one of the greatest action games I have ever played.
I still turn it on time to time to have a good time.
I don't see what you guys don't like about RE4 aside from it being a complete change in the series genere. Excelent plot, upgradable weapons, the unique "mob" combat, it was all beyond expectations.
And who could forget the over-the-top boss fights? Del Lago, U3, and Salazar himself, all epic fights.
There's a reason Nintendo called Resident Evil 4 the best game on the Gamecube.

Re: Resident evil 5
Let me guess Tenser, you kept running out of ammo?
Use the old headshot-roundhouse kick combo

Nope, that wasn't the problem. I do love my hordes of zombies as much as the next man. I really don't know how to explain it.
I was slightly disappointed by the time I got through the town the first time. (Which took multpile tries to find an area where I could narrow the horde, use minimal ammo and take minimal damage.)
After I went through the canyon I was already bored of the game.
I had made it through the house (with the zombie on the toilet) and then my 5 year old erased my save. By that time I just said screw it and went on to play something else and have never looked back.
People have told me that I should keep playing it and that it gets better but if you know me, patience for games is not one of my strong suits. Its the only Wii game that I regret buying.

Re: Resident evil 5
standing alone, res 4 and 5 are great games, but the problem is that they aren't resident evil games.
there was something about playing res 1-3, 2 in particular in the dark that just made it great. if they were going to make res 4 and 5 a shooter, they should have gone the route of condemned and make ammo very minimal and have the characters dependent on melee weapons, use the dark spaces, scare the be-jesus out of you.
instead, capcom opened the world up, made everything well lighted (1/2 of 1 level is played in the dark in res 5) and all of the zombie fools are right in front you and you have got ammo to spare.

Yeah, but you can't actually believe that. I mean, I hate the Metal Gear Solid series, but I wouldn't say they are really bad games. I hate the controls and don't care about the story. But it is pretty clear that Metal Gear Solid is not a bad game, just not to my tastes.
This is why I have a problem with your statement.

Re: Resident evil 5
I think this game is overrated. The team aspect is interesting, but ruined by the fact that in one-player your teammate is controlled by almost brain-dead AI. I found that the "Horror" was lacking as was the "Survival" and that it felt unworthy as a follow-up to RE4.
I give it a C+

I understand and accept that a lot of people really enjoyed RE4. But in my opinion the game was very boring, which to me, makes it a bad game.

I guess we have different definitions of a bad game. To me, a bad game is a game that was rushed or doesn't work how it should or suffers from something that is universal, rather than opinion. I think that a game that has high production values and gameplay that appeals to lots of people is not a bad game.

Yes we do. I've enjoyed plenty of games that have been rushed and/or had something that didn't work like it was suppose to. If I'm enjoying something it can't be a bad game, at least to me.

Well I have had fun with "bad games." Just like I have fun with bad movies. But I would never try to claim they are good, just that I thought they were fun. Like Earth Defense Force for the Xbox 360 or Shaft In Africa.
