I dunno, I can't find anything for the Wii, not the system, remotes, nunchuck nothing. I can find PS3's though I think they are the small ones.

This is something that seems to vary from area to area. Where I live, you can't find a darn thing. Every now and again, you find a remote. However, just a hop, skip, and a jump away in the next town over, you can find all the accessories you need. It's kinda funny, really.

Hey, I'm all set. I've got the system, 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks, a 2Gb SD Card, and four games (not counting Sports). I will eventually get some more remotes and 'chucks, but not until Wii Play comes out. It's going to come with a remote, so that's why I'm waiting.

I'm pretty well off. I want to add another nunchuck, but I don't need it per say.

I think in a month or 2 everything will be fine.

Not me. I totally need a remote. And wireless internet wouldn't hurt either.

I'm currently up to 2 'motes 2 'chucks 1 classical controller (xmas gift, never used), 5 games + Wii sports & a 2gb card...I'm also waitng for Wii play. I've got enough to hold me off for a while.

I have Mii's Tek, Hobbes, and TMT chillin' at my Wii, and 7 Mii's in my parade.

Have any of you downloaded anything but the Opera Browser? How do the game actually play?

I got a remote off of Amazon. It is all I can find.

I put a credit card number in my Wii to download some Gunstar Heroes. The thing took the money off my credit card and didn't give me my points. I guess I will buy the cards at the store from now on.

I can't figure out the Mii parade thing. How does it work? Does the fact that I have 0 Miis in it have to do with the fact that my wireless internet will randomly disconnect for 10 minutes at a time then connect again?

I think you need to set it up so that your Mii's can travel and that you will allow others to travel to your machine.

Tekka, you went 2-2 for me today in baseball, with a triple and a 2-run homer. Keep that up and maybe I'll sign you to a multi-year deal.

I finally got the game download stuff to work. I downloaded Gunstar Heroes. While all the games seem overpriced, the ones that can be hard to find (ex. Gunstar Heroes, ToeJam and Earl) can be a very good thing for 8 bucks. Gunstar Heroes will play with your Wii remote, a gamecube controller, or the classic controller. So far I have only played it with the remote, holding it sideways. I think using the remote as a controller is pretty cool. I have a gamecube controller which would also work fine I assume.

The game itself plays as well as I remember it on Genesis. It is a big blast to the past, and worth my 8 bucks considering I have hunted for a copy of Gunstar Heroes at a reasonable price for a long time, to no avail. This works for me.

Glad to be of service. Since I got all of your guys' Mii's, I haven't played Wii Sports. I guess I'll have to just to see how you all stand up in Baseball.

Hey Tekkaman. Could you explain to me how to use Wii Connect 24? For example: what connections I have to purchase, and what Internet service I need?

Well I'm not Tekka, but I do have the connect 24. All you need is a wi-fi or wireless internet connection. The Wii comes able to patch into that.

For example, and this may be too basic for you, I have a cable modem that runs into my wireless router. You set up your Wii to connect to the internet through your wireless router.

If you do not have a wireless router you can get a little device that hooks into the back of a computer that is running windows XP. You would need a high speed account for this to work as well I believe. The device (I forget what it is called) will send a wireless signal to your Wii.

If you have more questions ask them here, and anyone can add or correct what I have said.

Also not Tekka here but I'll chime in too. Hobbes is correct. But if you don't have WIFi via wireless router, but you do have a highspeed modem (cable or DSL) I believe you can use a USB cord to hard wire connect your Wii to the modem. There're a couple of USB ports in the back of the Wii.

Alternatively, if you do have WiFi, and it just doesn't seem to be connecting, check this post from earlier in the thead: Wii Connection Troubleshoot. It's what I had to do to get up and running.

Let us know if you have any other questions. :mushroom:

Edit: You may also find this useful: Wiki Wii Internet Connection (edit2: Sorry, this mostly relates to the DS)

Well, I am Tekka, so I'll add my two yen to the discussion. If you have WiFi/wireless internet, you can connect right out of the box with no additional bits to buy. If you don't have WiFi, you can either a) get a wireless modem so that you do have WiFi, or b) buy the ethernet adapter for the Wii which allows you to connect an ethernet cable into the console for wired internet access. (Connecting it via USB will not work, Brodyman.)

Personally, I find it to be more sensible to buy a wireless router than to buy the ethernet adapter. This way, you can avoid having to run cables from your computer to your Wii. In addition, if you have or get one, that would allow you to connect a DS to the internet as well.

I'll add one more thing to all this. If you have, or are planning to get a wireless router, make sure of two things:

1. The router must support 802.11b (the current standard is 802.11g, which is up 5x faster, but Wii doesn't support it). All routers should be back-compatible with b, but you may have to edit the default settings if it's set up to only broadcast g.

2. Wii and DS only support WEP encryption. The standard is WPA, which is much more secure, but Wii doesn't recognise it. If you're asked to set up security, make sure to choose WEP (or both, if applicable), and make a note of your key.

Also, ensure to set up all relevant security features in your router (admin password, encryption e.t.c) before setting up, and make sure to turn on MAC filtering once every thing's up and running. Wireless networks are very vulnerable in their out of box configurations, and so many people overlook the security.

But, yeah, that ethernet adapter definitely sounds like a waste of money. It's the same price as the Nintendo USB thing, and it's not wireless. But both are not much cheaper then a decent router, which will do full wireless internet.

Lucky! You get to play Wii Play because you live in Europe. We don't get it in the States until February 12th.

Glad to see that you enjoyed your time with the system. Is it like I said? Do you have to use it to really appreciate it? I feel this is one of those "proof is in the pudding" type of things.

yeah, it is. and i have to say the best thing about Wii Play is Tanks. its a must. first: its the easiest to do:razz: no, they are all the same. it is good because you can use the nunchuck or the d-pad to move, and you lay mines with A and fire missiles (up to 5 at a time:mrgreen with B, aim with the Wii-mote, as you would expect. i would say it is a must buy if you have a Wii, and if you dont, get one:razz:

I picked Rayman Raving Rabids off the shelf today. It was at Circuit City for $29.99 so I snatched it despite knowing minimal information on it.

It is pretty fun. You go through colloseum style levels doing mini games to earn plungers. It is not a platformer as I have come to expect from a Rayman game.

Overall, I give it a 7.5 out of 10. Totally worth it for 20 bucks less than other Wii games at this time. One mini game in paricular, however, really irritated me. There is a mini game where you are required to swing the wii-mote in circles to throw a cow on a chain. I failed it at least 20 times, and after those 20 times I had to sit down, because it was very tiring.

I think it would be a fun 2 player game, unfortunately I only have one nunchuk and can not find another one
