Sad news for fans of Space Cruiser Yamato - also known as Star Blazers:
The show's creator, Nishizaki Yoshinobu, has drowned in apparent accident while aboard his own private ship, the Yamato.

The show was much loved by myself and my friends so this is like a part of our childhood dying as well.
Odd that I should have posted the video of the opening of the show in another thread just the other day, at the time unaware of this tragic incident.

@ Joe...wow. I just watched that show a few days ago. There also a live action movie that was just released for Yamato last year ( still need to see that)

RIP to Yoshinobu-sinse

@ Begal..I read about him passing away. Thats pretty sad. He was a good actor and I loved him in The Usual Suspects

RIP

Aww crap! I hate to have to be the one to post this, but one of my biggest heroes Jack LaLanne has died at 96. He was an inspiration to a lot of people and will certainly leave an astounding legacy. R.I.P. I'm almost in shock that he died at all. He was always in such great shape. :weep:

Good point, and at 96 he still was healtier than most 50-60 year olds. When most people his age were using walkers and canes, he was still strong and mobile. At least he proved that the quality of life is better the better shape you are in, and that people can change their lives for the better.

It seemed like you tried to embed it, I just copied the link from a youtube video with the same title.

alohaex 03-10-2011 04:11 PM

Re: dead celebrities

Oh so it that how you do it just copy the address in the address bar

Dudebro 03-10-2011 04:21 PM

Re: dead celebrities

There may be other ways but that's how I do it. Some videos won't let you post them like that though, but the link should always work.

Thanks good to know

Don't you have to remove the '&...embed..player' from the end of the URL?

Dudebro 03-10-2011 04:46 PM

Re: dead celebrities

Not me I just copy and past the entire URL, hit preview to make sure it worked and then hit submit.

I rated your post 'up' because I liked it.:cute:
Kong is the one who would know for certain, but I believe getting rated up adds to your 'activity', which then can help you to 'level up'.

Rating down, {-1} is exactly the opposite, and is usually done by people who disagree with something you had said in a post, :curse: but we don't see it too often.
Personally I would rather rate someone UP!

Wow this one kinda hit me. I forget how old I was but when we used to go visit my dad he'd listen to rap with us and Nate Dogg was one of the popular ones at the time. He claimed he liked it but I kinda doubt it now, he was just trying to do something with us.

May not stand up to the test of time but it has some pretty strong nostalgia for me.

In 7th grade, we had a design class. Drawing boards, t-squares, all that stuff, there was also a computer design element to it so we had Mac's at our desks. A great many day were spent listening to Nate Dogg, Warren-G, Snoop, and Dr. Dre while we drew cubes, spheres, and pyramids.

You're out of your mind. Batman and Robin was a joke, it almost ruined the franchise.

(Seriously, why did he need a Bat Credit Card?)

StarfoxFan2009 03-17-2011 02:47 PM

Re: dead celebrities

The only reason why people thinks it sucks is because Tim Burton didn't direct it

Dudebro 03-17-2011 02:47 PM

Re: dead celebrities

It's not better SJB, it's a turd. It's pathetically campy to the point of not being cool and it literally almost killed the franchise off. Mr Freeze was funny but other than that it was the worst Batman movie ever made.

@SFF- wrong SFF. I hate it because it's bad. I don't care who directs, if it sucks it sucks.

samejamesbond 03-17-2011 02:55 PM

Re: dead celebrities

I'm going to agree with DB, it looks aweful.

I found the Bad Credit Card thing, which further cemements what DB said.

NC Bat Credit Card (NSFW):

Re: dead celebrities

This isn't the topic for this discussion but let me just say that the majority of people, batman fan or not, agrees that Batman and Robin was the worst of the series. Lots of people also go on to say it's one of the worst movies ever made. It has horrible review scores on every major movie site. It's just bad.

samejamesbond 03-17-2011 03:03 PM

Re: dead celebrities

I agree we should drop this, I mean my only experience with the film is the Nostalgia Critic review.
If you guys want to continue the debate, just make a thread for it.

I know this is to do with it but also isnt I LOVE the old baman series because the complete LEGEND Adam West is in it, seriously he is just a bloody legend!!
