Yeah, considering the fact that everyone dies, millions of people die each day, and there are a lot of people considered to be "celebrities" and thus the deaths and celebrities must, at some point, be intertwined.

There's some hard truth there.

Celebrities are meant to be generational icons, faces made familiar, and as such also serve as time markers with their passing.
For example, Elvis' death came as a great shock to my parents and their friends, as though someone they knew personally had passed on.

I've heard people from the United Kingdom say that their Royals are to them as our celebrities are to us - very interesting tabloid fodder due to their incessant shenanigans.

Still, when one of them passes on it always reminds people from their generation of their own mortality.

I think Steve Martin illustrated one aspect of this when he said:

'... it's nice to see so many young people in the audience ... to remind me of my own death.'

I really hate when people do that. I know it happens frequently and it's not abnormal but it's weird. For example I know I'll be sad when Patrick Stewart dies but I won't be as sad as when a loved one dies. It's just silly to get so emotional about someone you've never even talked to.

I don't think they care about much but themselves, and someone in the film industry once told me that it's true - their feet never touch the ground, and they don't live in the same World the rest of us do.

Certainly there are those ones who have a heart, like Rosie o'Donnell, Charlie Sheen, Willie Nelson, Jesse Ventura, and many others that put their money where their mouth is and stand with the people, not with the TV/ Hollywood BS factory.

With the exception of William Shatner, I like to think that the cast of the Star Trek universe are a pretty good bunch, even if all I'm doing is projecting my own liking of Starfleet's teachings onto them.
But I will be upset when Patrick Stewart dies, too.

I think celebs are just normal rich people who happen to be overexposed. Sure some are living in a dream world but not all. It's just easier to assume they're all worthless morons out of touch with reality.

Also I don't think your list is very accurate. Rosie and Charlie Sheen? I guess you don't follow the news much if you think they're down to earth or anything similar. Willy Nelson is the man though.

This isn`t about my opinion, or Rosie`s, Willie`s, Ron`s, Charlie`s ... it simply has nothing to do with point of view.
It`s about the TRUTH.

Why do you think the police won`t let people demonstrate anymore?
Why is freedom of speech under attack everywhere now?
It`s because what the protesters (Truthers) and Tea Partiers are saying is true.

Again, I have to say that I don`t expect you to believe me but really, when you are no longer allowed to demonstrate and use your freedom of speech you are officially living in a dictatorship.

Here you are doing the same thing you`re accusing me of - allowing your personal opinion to cloud your judgment, and I will explain:

Let`s say that I didn`t care for Rosanne Barr, but she began to come forward with what she knows about corporate media cover ups and spreading of disinformation.
Should I:

A) try to discredit the messenger based on my personal opinion of them, while ignoring the message
or

B) try to put aside my personal opinion of them, and pay attention to the message

Maybe I haven`t said so, but I`m not personally fond of some of the people in the Truth movement because I find the way they speak to be a discredit to the cause.
But I don`t allow that to keep me from hearing what they have to say.

The Truthers are on the level, again please ask yourself why they won`t let us speak anymore - our message must be pretty dangerous to them if they`re so desperate to shut us up.
I think I already mentioned that they`re planning on shutting down the internet to stop us from telling you the Truth.

They tell people that it`s because of DHS Cybersecurity, and how Al - C.I.A. - duh is out to recruit us to their cause through our PC`s - and now I understand they`ve re - hashed the tired old `Russian Spy` story.
Could their lies be more transparent?

Next they`ll be saying that Satan himself is on the net, and that`s why they need to shut it down - anything to keep you from hearing and knowing the Truth, DB.
