You're not giving Jim Carrey enough credit. He's actually got a really good range and I think he has the face and timing to do Curly justice. I can't think of anyone better, they could do A LOT worse right?

I'm worried about how Sean Penn would do but he's also a good actor with lots of range. I think he has a good chance of surprising a lot of people with this role, if he takes it.

Del Toro as Moe is a weird one but if you look at his face you can see he has a similar look. His acting isn't the question really. Moe is funny but he's also a mean straight man in the act, seems like a good fit.

Knoxville might pull off the look of Moe but I think he'd have a hard time being taken seriously as a straight man. Could be wrong though.

I've watched some of the old Three Stooges shorts... i doubt any o those guys could pull it off to be honest

Yeah but Knockville is a rumor still. Even so I think he might be ok for the role. He can do the serious jerk like moe and still be funny. Stranger things have happened.
But I liked the original idea for casting, Del Toro, Penn and Carrey. That sounded epic.

too bad they're trying to get Johnny Knoxville to play Moe

If I remember right some companions will leave for stuff like that but they have to be goody goody. I know in NV theirs lots of choices that will make them leave, not join or attack you. I played goody goody though so they all loved me.

If I remember right it's pretty easy to destroy that town. I didn't bother though, I kinda liked the place.
