Metal Gear Solid
I have ordered Metal Gear Solid online, and now I just need to wait for it to ship in the mail. That's why I generally don't like the idea of buying online, waiting.
Once I get it and have a chance to play it a bit, I am probably going to write a review of it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Great game. The remake they made for the Gamecube was stellar, too.

I was planning to review this...
Oh well, you can have it if you want.
I'll just review MGS: the Twin Snakes.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Uh, huh. That game along with NES' Metal Gear is partially responsible for the series' popularity.

MGS really brought the series center stage, before that, people liked Metal Gear and it was fairly popular, just not to the same degree.

Hey, whatever works. At least we have the series in existence.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Yeah, good point fenrir, that's what matters.
Today I got my copy of the game in the mail, but I have only played training missions because the memory card has yet to arrive, but it should be here soon enough.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Hey, I'd do them to get acquainted with the game. Too bad the stealth element didn't work quite right for SOCOM.

That's what I'm doing, the SOCOM you get in training has the silencer on it, mostly to get you used to aiming, and making every shot count, when you get the silencer in game, it should be easy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
I traded my copies of SOCOM and SOCOM 3 in because after a while they stopped working.

I misinterpreted your last post, in MGS, there is a hand-gun known as the SOCOM, and it made sense in the context of the post.
I had a SOCOM game for the PS2, but I only played it once at my cousin's house, I didn't have a PS2 yet, but my uncle won the game and gave it to me. If the stealth had worked, it would have been a fun game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
I didn't realize there was a weapon called the SOCOM when I posted. Silly me. But thanks for telling me that. Now I won't post something that might confuse people.

If you post it outside of a conversation relating to MGS, there shouldn't be any confusion.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
That is so true. But I believe MGS would be a real challenge for me and I do love challenging games.

It's great, I haven't done much outside of training, but being unarmed early on makes the game a challenge.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Challenges are fun when nobody tries to take over the game from you. I know one person guilty of that and he's not around at the moment.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Yep. He'd commandeer the game if he thought he could get away with it. Bad thing is, he's bigger than me.

Sounds unpleasant. Sometimes when I'm playing MGS 3, my brother's friend tells me what to do, what weapon to use, and where to hide. I get mad, but he doesn't leave my room and he would freak out if I physically removed him (I'm 6'4'', 275 lbs, he's about half my weight and two thirds of my height, if that) he would make my mom think I was assaulting him.

Re: Metal Gear Solid
Well, aside from the occasional times he does actively commandeer the PS2, we generally do not have problems. That is usually until he picks my sorry butt up on his shoulders and I'm 158 pounds at least.

Well, 158 isn't that heavy, and it isn't hard to get that onto your shoulders, you just need to know how to do it.
