The thing I don't like about either Guns N' Roses or Aerosmith mainly are their singers.
It may shock you rigid to learn that I also don't like AC DC for basically the same reason.
Also Led Zepplin and a bunch of other commonly known bands.
What I find strange is peoples' reactions when I tell them this IRL; it's like I had told them I'm a piece of green cheese from the Moon or something.
The same as when I tell them I don't like team sports.
Sorry, I didn't mean to put music you like down, it's just my own personal opinion.
Actually my dislike of that song comes from two things: I don't like Aerosmith, and that song was WAY overplayed on the radio back in its time, again only in my opinion.
Within the first few bars I thought: Aerosmith with Run DMC singing 'Walk this way'.
Interesting and different, but not really matched up the way it should be in my opinion.
A musical mismatch, not to say there's anything wrong with the artists themselves.
It also reminded me of those other experimental pieces they did accompanying an orchestra, playing the Imperial March, not bad and more of a correct match of musical styles in that case.
There's a fake one on youtube but I saw them on TV years ago performing with the orchestra.
{that one on youtube is obviously some guy with a cheap keyboard and a guitar}
{my post was too long; this is part 2 and part 1 is below}
Take Jazz, for example: there's the bright, lively stuff that gets you nodding your head to the rhythm, and then there's the nearly comatose stuff they play in lounges, and then there's those seemingly spasmatic unrehearsed sounds which frankly sound more like the musicians are warming up for a perfomance than actually performing one - which is clearly not my favorite genre = but the point is that there's a style to suit every taste.
So it is with anime; so many different genres and sub genres that it's probably one of the more diverse forms of entertainment out there, from the sickeningly cute to dark and brutal.
But hey, while we're talking about it I think I'll post one of my favorite pieces from the Cowboy Bebop series for you:
Not to try to push anime on you since you say you don't get into it much, but I've shown Cowboy Bebop to people who flat out say they don't like anime and they've become captivated by it .. and wanted to see another episode, and another .. it really is unique among the genre.
But then we were saying pretty much the same thing about music, right?
Yeah Metallica ruled the world there for a while it seemed.
I like some Jazz myself, and I'm not ashamed to admit it was Yoko Kanno's work on the anime series 'Cowboy Bebop' that opened my eyes to how great it could be.
By the way, she composed all kinds of different styles for that show besides Jazz, including some Electronic, Metal, Reggae, and even Country - and it's all great!
