That's what I was talking about earlier when I put Crystalis and Willow in the same catagory.
|
Oh, I agree they're amazing games. Crystalis is my favorite NES game for that matter.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
I love Crystalis and Zelda. I will probably play Willow some day. But I still have yet to beat Crystalis. I got pretty far on my way home from Brazil before my PSP died, and I haven't played it since.

ARE YOU HIGH!?!?!?!?
Tommy, Willow is an amazing adventure game. An extremely rare breed of a good movie to game port. If you like Crystalis/Zelda style combat adventures I highly recommend it.

Man you are easy to troll. I'll admit I wasn't messing with you personally but I knew someone would reply.
I've played Willow. My gf loves it, she's played it alot more than me. I have the game in my collection still.
I admit it's not that bad of a game I was just being negative. I think my problem with this game is I played it only recently and it didn't do much for me. I've played tons of games like this and I was bored pretty quick.
Got a Willow question for you Tenser....

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
She'll need to meet three requirements if I remember correctly.
She needs the Wakka Seeds. You can get them from Kchil(sp?) of the Nail Clan.
Before she crosses the lake I would highly recommend that she be at level 13 at the least and she have the dragon sword and armor.
If you need anymore detail, feel free to ask.

She has the wakka seeds and dragon gear as far as I know. The problem is she goes to cross the water and drowns. It's been awhile since we've played it but I'm loading it up now to check the gear and seeds, make sure I'm not being a moron.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
I recommend (at least for curiosity's sake at least) Super Mario Remix 2. It's a Mario game set somewhat in the Dragon Warrior world. The decripion said King Koopa is the ultimate evil, but like Mario Fantasy Adventure (FF1), I don't think he is. At least check it out when you find the time.

You could try one of the Pokemon games. Don't play the hack versions though.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
Ok,so ONLY 1 PERSON referenced the mother series If you haven't played Earthbound yet, and you say you like RPG games, then you really are missing out. Just play it anyway possible, you won't regret it.

An SNES RPG that you haven't played yet, but need to? That's an easy one.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
Live A Live - SNES
Emerald Dragon - SNES
Treasure Hunter G - SNES
Magi Nation - GBC
7th Saga - SNES
Bahamut Lagoon - SNES
Der Langrisser - SNES
Dual Orb II - SNES
Front Mission - SNES
Monstania - SNES
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest - SNES (included because most people overlook)
Shin Megami Tensei 1 & 2 - SNES
Azure Dreams - GBC
Quest RPG - GBC
No particular order.
Also to note, I didn't say obvious ones such as Super Mario RPG or Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, etc. I'm sure if you're looking for an RPG, you've already played those.

That's because most people here have either already played Earthbound or have no plans to ever play Earthbound. Not really worth discussing beyond that. It's like how Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior got one mention.
Also, I saw Earthbound Zero mentioned twice.
And Chrono Trigger didn't get mentioned at all, it's because everyone has played it or never plans on it.

I haven't actually played that one yet.
I should probably do that.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
I was gonna say something similar DM. In a community like this Earthbound is so well known it's a given that people have already played it or at least heard about it.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good rpg
Always though Chrono Trigger was I little bit over rated but in saying that I have only just started playing retro RPGs again. Some good ones on here I will have to try once I have finished Final Fantasy III.
