All right, excellent choices everyone!

I think that Luna has a point with The Thing, because it is a very unique movie in the way that it was shot, almost in a 'doumentary' style at times.
It gives the audience a deeper sense of fear through the fact that the story takes place in isolated Antarctica where the characters have no hope at all for rescue from the outside world.

A cult classic.
I wouldn't be surprised if one day they start having 'costume party' type showings at theaters the way they do with Rocky Horror Picture show.


Now this:

may not be the 'best' movie in my opinion but it is an example of what I call a
'Hollywood formula' movie, in that the content and cadence are edited to 'perfection'.
One scene flows seamlessly into the next, and the comedy and sight gags are well tuned and timed instruments unto themselves.

So one of my other favorites is/are the Evil Dead series..
Bruce Campbell is one of a kind.



There is a rare short film called
'Within the woods'
which was Sam Raimi 's first 'Evil Dead' project and the scariest of the bunch in my opinion.
I love the campy humor of the series and (at that time) unique FX which were later to be incorporated in
Xena: Warrior Princess extensively.

2. Batman (1989)-Michael Keaton is still the best Batman on the big screen, to me.
3. Batman: The Dark Knight
4. The Godfather
5. The Godfather, Part II
6. The Fugitive
7. Tombstone
8. The Replacements-it is dumb in some ways, but I find it funny and entertaining

Apology accepted, but yeah, the original is not just a slapstick comedy, on top of that its a very touching film, it explores relationships, family turmoil, speaks a lot about values, decision making, prejudice... This is the reason that the movie works so well, it's the reason that pretty near every scene in that film is so memorable.

Give it watch with the fam next Christmas.
