To make a MIDI
sound like it was created on an NES use this program -
GXSCC
It is easy, just open program, drag midi file to it. Click config. Choose an instrument set. Click ok. Test with Play button. Click "authoring" to save.
But first you have to get a high quality midi file which is not easy. You can find free professional midis for classic songs with google but you will probably have to make your own midi file.
Step 1. Search for existing midi. This might be what you are looking for but you have to pay $2 to find out -

Step 2. If you can't find an existing midi then make your own. Install
Audacity
Step 3. Download WIDI Audio To MIDI VST 1.10 plug-in from
MP3 to MIDI and WAVE to MIDI Converter: WIDISOFT Download
This is a 20 day free trial. There are some free options and other paid options but this one worked for me.
Step 4. Install WIDI. When you do so you need to change the destination folder to the Audacity plugin folder. For Win64 it is "C
Program Files (x86)\Audacity\Plug-Ins" and Win32 it is - "C
Program Files\Audacity\Plug-Ins"
Step 5. Try to get an instrumental version of the song. I found one for this song in google but if you cant find an existing one then you can sometimes use audacity to make one. [ame="http://www.retrouprising.com/images/misc/midi/HARD%20DRIVE%20UNDERTALE%20-%20instrumental.mp3"]

Step 6. Open your song in Audacity. The first time you open Audacity after installing WIDI it will ask if you want to import WIDI. Click Ok
Step 7. Press Control + A to select whole song.
Step 8. Click Effect then WIDI.
Step 9. Click Option. Click the midi out and midi file buttons. Then click the box under midi file to select a save location.
Step 10. Pick a channel that matches your song. Mostly you are just going for pitch. The instrument will be replaced in final step but should be something similar to original song.
Step 11. If you want to keep tweaking then adjust the equalizer and other main settings.
Step 12. Apply. you should hear jumbled fast sounds. If you don't then screwed up at step 9. The buttons are confusing.
Hopefully you have a decent midi now.
