In a humorous take on the eighties' sci-fi judgment day films, you either play Arnold or Sigourney in a mission to save the world. The year is 2029 and an alien invasion, led by Supreme Commander Vile Malmort, threatens the earth.

The heroes are equipped with a jet pack and two orbiting cannons. These can be set to fire in one direction or in a fixed pattern. You can fly in all directions and use power-ups to gain new types of weapons or to restore health. Only seven lives per mission are provided, but there is an unlimited amount of continues.

Long time ago, the planet of Darius went into ruin but Proco and Tiat of Darius gave birth to a new planet and named it Orga. After the passing of many centuries, Proco Jr. and Tiat Young receive a strange radio broadcast from the galaxy. They discover the radio broadcast is a mayday signal from another descendant of Darius. They board the Silverhawk, preparing to defeat an evil force and journey to the galaxy.

Darius II, or Sagaia as it is known in the West, is the second installment in Taito's premier shoot 'em up series. Its main distinguishing features are the non-linear level system and the enemies, which are different kinds of seafood.

You play a warrior possessed with mystic powers who does that superhero thing of battling endless hordes of evil beings. Arcade game based on the Japanese anime series Saint Seiya. A Spanish-dubbed version of the show was also syndicated throughout Central and South America under the title Los Caballeros del Zodiaco.

Looks and plays much like the first Valis game. If you can handle that, then you can handle this.

Salamander 2
Salamander 2 » Coin Op
A one or two player shoot-em-up released ten years after the game it sequels, Salamander 2 remains faithful to the superb 1986 original; retaining both the organic look and feel of the graphics, as well as the horizontal and vertically scrolling levels. While the game doesn't break any new ground gameplay-wise, and is little more than a retread of (and tribute to) the original game, what it does it does very well; and the graphics in particular are nothing short of stunning.

In this translation of SNK's hit arcade game, Samurai Shodown for the Super Nintendo offers twelve selectable characters, thirteen animated stages, and multiple bonus rounds--all squeezed onto a 32-Meg cartridge. As an 18th century noble warrior, you must use your sword to battle ninjas and other Samurai from around the world. Setting this game apart from most fighters are a "Rage Gauge," which makes you stronger as you absorb damage, and a "Courier Man" who runs past the screen dropping special items such as food and money. Learn and master a variety of special moves as you fight for honor!

The characters are as follows: Fugu Blade wielding Ha-Oh Maru; Samurai "heartthrob" Ukyo Tachibana; young environmentalist Nakoruru; French leader Charlotte; Ninjas Galford and Hanzo Hattori; two-handed swordsman Jubei Yagyu; former Kabuki actor Kyoshiro Senryo, military giant Wan Fu; Mayan Tam Tam; scissor-handed Genan Shiranui; and Earthquake, the massive Texan. Battle each character until you come face to face with the evil Shiro Tokisada Amakusa! Parents should be warned that Samurai Shodown carries an MA-13 rating for animated violence and blood.

"A samurai fears nothing, struggles to triumph over evil, and lives for one purpose - to destroy all enemies." A conversion of the popular arcade beat 'em up that manages to stand out from the crowd of Street Fighter clones due to its unique premise.

Ported from the old Neo-Geo system, almost nothing that matters has survived the porting process leaving passable graphics, jerky animation, and frustrating gameplay.

The game that put the Neo-Geo on the map! Superb weapons-based fighter featuring 12 characters, bonus rounds and one end boss. The first game that introduced weapon fighting into the fighting game genre. The game used an upgraded version of the scaling graphics engine that was originally featured in "Art of Fighting". Samurai Shodown also started SNK's reputation for their unique style of Engrish, known as SNKgrish in their games. Samurai Shodown is considered by some to portray Japanese culture and language effectively. Unlike most American versions of Japanese video games, the characters in this game (including the announcer) generally speak fluent Japanese with subtitles, and traditional Japanese music is often heard during gameplay. Samurai Shodown takes most of its characters from either historical sources or characters from the Ninja Scroll anime. In fact, a few designers that worked on Samurai Shodown also worked on the Ninja Scroll anime.
